The Catholic University of East Africa (CUEA) campus recently buzzed with excitement as BIC Kenya, through its Wembesha Initiative, hosted a series of engaging activities aimed at uplifting students’ spirits and promoting wellness. The highlight of the event was a dynamic panel discussion on confidence and wellness, headlined by renowned comedian Timothy Kimani, popularly known as Njugush, and media personality Shixx Kapienga.
The panelists didn’t hold back, sharing deep insights and personal stories about building confidence and tackling mental challenges faced by students. Njugush and Shixx Kapienga spoke candidly about their journeys, offering strategies for overcoming obstacles and nurturing self-assurance. The discussion was not only enlightening but also inspiring, encouraging students to embrace their uniqueness and prioritize mental well-being.
Joining the lineup was Kasmuel, a passionate mental health advocate, who bravely shared his own path to confidence while navigating mental health hurdles. His perspective underscored the crucial link between mental wellness and resilience, emphasizing the need for proactive approaches to maintain well-being.
Away from the serious discussions, CUEA students delved into a range of enjoyable activities, including games like Jenga and Buzz Alert, engaging in lively photo sessions, and indulging in a free Kinyozi Shaving Experience with celebrity barbers.
These moments of relaxation and camaraderie provided a welcome break from academic rigors, fostering connections and spreading joy across the campus.
Salome Ngugi, BIC East Africa Marketing Director, expressed the campaign’s dedication to understanding and addressing the challenges faced by young people.
“We recognize the pressures and struggles that come with growing up, and how they can affect confidence and mental well-being. Through initiatives like Wembesha, we aim to empower youth and promote a culture of resilience and positivity,” Ngugi remarked.
As the Wembesha campaign continues its mission to support youth empowerment, it stands firm in its commitment to nurturing confidence and wellness among the next generation.
